Clean and Simple - Pink and Lime

Hey Scrappers!

Today I'd like to share with you a quick blog post. I created a clean and simple layout in white, pink and lime. I was inspired by a layout I found on Pinterest and wanted to try this color combo. And this is what I came up with:

All the paper scraps, washi tapes and stickers are from the MME Up & Away collection. I created the little heart-pin by myself with a punch and some glitter.

A few spritzers lime, a few sprinkles in pink and some matte gel on the background - that's pretty much it! Thank's for stopping by!

Brownie, my Sweetie Pie :)

Hi everyone, I'm back with another layout! This time I scrapped my cat :) His name is Brownie and as you can see, he's my sweetie pie :) I worked with sketch #22 by ScrapFriends and I used the mood-board by Scrap around the world for this layout, too. You can find their wonderful mood-board and the sketch I used at the end of this post.

I used a lot of different sprays and inks to create my clustered background. I was inspired by the colors of the mood-board and I tried to catch the orange, pink and gold of it. Besides, it inspired me to use the title "you are my sweetie pie".

I played with different sizes and mediums to create checker-boards (stamps, masks, brads).

My sweet title...

... and a little bit of my background stamping... :)

I used gel medium on my orange hearts and covered them with Inka Gold after that. The gel medium resists the Inka Gold and reveals the orange paper.

And here are the beautiful mood-board and the sketch I used for this layout:

A sketch and a color challenge

Hi Scrappers! Scrapfriends brought out  their new color-challenge today. Quiet funny that these are very similar colors to a layout I created just some days ago for the Life. Paper. Scrapbook sketch challenge :D This time I used a sketch provided by Scrap& Music. The pictures are from the Dec. 31. 2013. We decided to spend a relaxed new year's eve and travelled to the highest mountain in Germany, where we did some hiking trips.

This is the mood board for the color challenge # 21 by Scrapfriends:

I wanted to submit this layout for the Scrap&Music sketch challenge #19, but I forgot to use a piece of their chosen song as title for my layout.... So.... anyway, this is the sketch I used:

Thank you for stopping by! :)

Creative Scrappers sketch #259

Hi everyone! I created another "clean" layout - well, at least I tried - this time for CreativeScrappers.
That's their awesome sketch and what I created with it. I played around with my new Silhouette Cameo as you'll see :)

Two pictures from one of my hiking trips with my friends! I just love nature and this is a great way to spend time with your friends and being active. We had a great day! All the paper I used is from DCWV, it's from the "Vintage Collector" collection which comes in great bright colors! I used withe cardstock for the Silhouette Cuts, and a little bit of yarn. That's it!

I hope you like my creation! Thank you for stopping by <3
A appreciate all comments :)

January Challenge by Life. Paper. Scrapbook

TGIF Scrappers! I found another great sketch challenge to work on, this time by Life. Paper. Scrapbook. They have a quiet simple sketch for January, but I really LOVE this one. Usually I prefer sketches with lots of details instead of some clean and simple ones, but when I saw their sketch, I knew I had to create a layout with it! I knew I had a picture in stash, which matches perfect to the sketch. It's from a travel to Prague in 2011, where we visited the John Lennon Wall. Love the colors!

For me it's really hard to create a simple layout and although this one looks quiet clean, it has a lot of small details I added. The grid is stitched with pink floss and there's some stencil work behind the picture and in the lower left corner. I cut out my title with my NEW SILHOUETTE CAMEO (thank you honey for this AWESOME Christmas present :)) and added some Candis on the picture.

I cut out the hearts from a 12 by 12 paper and surrounded them with faux stitching. Little spritzes of Glimmer mist add some shine to the layout.

And that's the sketch for the challenge:

Thank you so much for stopping by and have a great weekend out there.
Hugs!

Mixed Media Canvas - My married parents

Happy New Year Scrappers!

I thought it's time to create a new mixed media canvas. I haven't used any pictures of my parents and this time I wanted to use a very special photo of them. Isn't this vintage? I got some happy news: I booked a scrap-event with Finnabair in February!!! I'm a huge fan of her work, as you can see, my project is very much inspired by her style. I'm so excited to have a weekend participating in her workshops. After watching some YouTube videos on how to create a mixed media canvas, I gave it another try and this is the finished project:

I used a lot of different techniques, but mainly: masking, misting and rubbing on some Inka Gold in different colors.
These are the main steps I used to create the canvas:
1. Here and there I glued down some torn up paper pieces from an old book and covered them lightly with gesso.
2. After letting it dry, I used two different masks with molding paste.
3. Then I figured out, which elements and which title I wanted to have on my project and glued them down. I used a lot of different items: wood veneers (gears), metal embellishments (i.e. keys, spoons, screws, keyholes...), prima flowers, lace trim and buttons. The small letters are from Maya Road, the larger ones made of grunge board from the Tim Holtz Collection.
4. Again I let everything dry and covered it with another layer of gesso.
5. After it dried, I sprayed everything with different matching shades of glimmer and metallic mists. Before I started misting, I covered the photo with a piece of plastic sheet.
6. Then I rubbed on some Inka Gold with my fingers on every item, to give it a metallic finish. I used the colors: copper, hematite and metallic pink.
7. Last but not least, I applied some accents with liquid pearls on certain spots.

These butterflies are plain chipboard, which I covered with embossing powder, heated it and then pushed into a stamp while the powder was still quite hot.

Thanks for reading and a happy 2014!

✮ Warm Winter Wishes ✮

Hey Crafters, tonight it's time for my latest work! I created this scraplifted card for my best friend for christmas . I found my inspiration one more time on Pinterest. I stamped the background with vintage photo distress ink to make it look more vintage :)

The two bigger snowflakes are made of felt with a cutting die from Tim Holtz. The smaller snowflakes are embellishment which I found in a local Home Decorating store. The paper the candy cane is glued on was once white; I heat embossed it with clear embossing powder and used distress ink afterwards.

Besides, I put this card in the SEM Decemeber challenge :)

Time for even more Christmas Cards... :)

Ho ho ho together... It's time to showcase my new Christmas Cards... :) And to add them for the Christmas Challenge from Scrapping Everyday Miracles!
Both cards are for my coworkers, the one wanted a winter landscape, the other asked me to use something soft and plushy.

And this is what I came up with:

I wrote the sentiment by hand, since I don't have any polish stamps ;) I did the icicles with some glossy accents and sprinkled some distress glitter over it while it was wet. Really like how that turned out! The cutting dies are from Marianne Design (except for the Christmas trees).

On that card I used white felt for the snowflake, to make it look even softer :)

These circles are my new christmas stamps from Joy! Crafts. Really LOOVE them! :)

Thanks for stopping by and feel free to comment if you like ;)

Layout for Sketchabilities #103

Hello Crafters!

The weekend started and Sketchabilities just revealed their new sketch #103! So I sit down and created a new layout. Their sketches are just my favorite ones, with all the pretty details. So lovely! This time I wanted to use a white background and a bw picture of my first photo shooting, which I got for my birthday two years ago. Here's my take on the sketch:

I used textured white cardstock for the background and covered it with a mix of pink and white gesso. After letting dry, I did a lot of masking with molding paste and some random stamping. At the end, I covered the molding paste randomly with withe crackle paint and some silver wax.

I created two small flowers with cutting dies and my big shot and painted them with a little bit of gesso. The white flower is from Prima. Besides, I did some stitching on the background paper.

In the next pictures I tried to catch the structure on the background.

And that's their new beautiful sketch:

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!
Thanks for stopping by and wishing you a scrappy day :)

Oh Snow! Two challenges at once

Hey Crafters!

I've had a fabulous weekend and a crafty sunday. It's getting really cold outside and I wanted to create a winter layout. I found that amazing sketch-challenge at StuckOnUSketches and just joined in! Besides I used the word "inspire" in my subtitle, so I joined the Bird is the word challenge, too :) Just a great thing to combine these two wonderful challenges in one layout.

I chose a two-year old picture from our farewell weekend with my classmates. We were in a cottage and all throughout the night it started two snow like crazy. On the next day we made ourselves a cold white buddy :) It was a really nice weekend and I enjoy remembering our time.

I used some plain chipboard pieces from Maya Road and covered them with gesso. Once the letters were dry, I used some withe Distress Stickles to give them a snowy look.

Two of the snowflakes were wooden embellishment, which I first covered with some pigment ink, and after that I used some Perfect Pearls to make them shine.

In the middle of my snowflakes I put some light blue and blue crystals. For the background, I did some masking with molding paste and spritzed some silver Perfect Pearls Mist, to make everything match together. I did the masking on the background paper as well as behind the picture. You can't see a lot of it, but I really like how it turned out.

That's it for now! Have a great day you guys and thanks for stopping by!
