Let's get Sketchy Part 3!

Hi Scrappers! I joined the last sketch challenge for January by Let's Get Sketchy. It's getting really cold outside and I wanted to create a very fresh and springlike layout. Take a look:

The background paper is from the Prima art journal pad.  I spritzed it a lot with different shades of green and yellow glimmer mists, used some green Gelatos and some golden distress paints for a mixed media look.

You can see the stitched lines for my journaling and some lace ribbon.

I punched out these butterflies out from light chipboard and heat embossed them with my patina powder. Besides I added some dots with stickles.

Frosty December

Hi Scrappers! During the weekend I finished another layout for a sketch from Let's Get Sketchy, but I just hadn't the time to upload it. So here it comes! It's from the January Week 1 sketch.

I took this photo during one of our hiking trips. The forest floor just draw my attention to all its frosted leafs and foliage. I thought I'd be a great picture :) I wanted to create a vintage mixed media background and added a lot of subtle texture to it. First of all I used mask with small dots behind the layered photo. After that I misted the masking with different darker shades of glimmer mist and wiped away the excess for the dots.

I cut the title with my Cameo and added some white distress glitter on top (I couldn't catch the glitter with my camera :( ) Underneath the picture I stitched a chevron pattern with blue floss to the paper, and added my journaling above the floss.

I stamped a few doilies with embossing ink and heat-embossed them with this great patina-embossing powder by WOW. In between I added a few glitter brads and sequins.

I covered the snowflake with distress glitter to create this frosted and layered look. You can see it better than on the "December" title, but I'm still not super-happy with the result of the photo. I guess I'll need to buy a macro lens for my camera... :)

And this was the sketch I used:

Thank you for stopping by, I hope you like my newest creation :)

Let's get sketchy! :)

Hi everyone! It's time for another challenge and some bold colors. Today I chose a sketch by Let's Get Sketchy. The pictures are from a day in a theme park near where we live on our second anniversary. A great day :)

I used my new Gelatos for a little bit of shading on the background
(well I just couldn't resist to buy them.... :-) )

The doodles are made free hand with Liquid Pearls.

I made the title with my label maker from the SMASH collection by K&Company.

And that's their sketch:

Underwater Mixed Media Layout

Hi Scrappers! Do you know 13arts? It's a polish blog and shop, and they are just aaaawesome! If you're like me a Mixed Media lover, you seriously have to check them out. They provide you with beautiful inspirational layouts and art, and they sell great stuff! Indeed I have to admit that I love the Polish scrapper-girls style a lot.

Anyway this is my first layout for one of their challenges. This project is for the 13arts challenge #14.
It's about using their sketch, at least one medium and the word "time" in your title. This is my interpretation:

I used white cardstock for the background and altered it with different glimmer mists, ink sprays, silver modeling paste and some perfect pearls powder. The mask I used is a fishnet mask by Jenny Bowlin, and matches perfectly with my underwater theme and all these teal and turquoise colors.

Behind the picture I glued some real fishnet down and the die cut looks like a coral :)

I stamped a compass and some watches on glossy stamping paper and dry embossed them with an embossing pen from the back.

I distressed all the edges of my scraps and crumpled them a little bit

Thank you for stopping by and have a great day! :)

Sketchabilities Challenge #107

Hi Scrappers! Yesterday Karan revealed her new sketch for the
Since my term as a DT-member will start with sketch #109; I submit my layout for the current challenge. After having done some clean layouts with really bright and shiny colors, I decided to create this time a more vintage looking and distressed one, with neutral colors like black and kraft.
And here we go...:

The background paper is from the Papermania "All aboard" collection. It's a british company and probably unknown to most of you. But they have really cool stuff and they aren't expensive. To create the background behind the picture and the layered scraps, I covered up a rectangle in with some washi tape, colored it with acrylic paint and let it dry. After that I used a mask and modeling paste mixed with acrylic color. On top, I spritzed some Glimmer Mist over some spots of the layout. At the edges of the bg paper I used a clear stamp from Kaisercraft and black Archival Ink.

Then I added some star-shaped brads by Prima. They just matched perfect with these vintage colors.

The little label is from Tim Holtz and the tag is hidden in a pocket behind the layered paper, so I could add some journaling.

I used perfect pearls to create the small arrows (is that the right expression? I'm not sure if these are really arrows ^^) For the taller arrows I used textured sticky cardstock.

Some close-up of the layering...

...and the background with the mask :) Thank you for stopping by and don't forget to submit your own layout for this cool sketch! See you soon!

A sketch and a color challenge

Hi Scrappers! Scrapfriends brought out  their new color-challenge today. Quiet funny that these are very similar colors to a layout I created just some days ago for the Life. Paper. Scrapbook sketch challenge :D This time I used a sketch provided by Scrap& Music. The pictures are from the Dec. 31. 2013. We decided to spend a relaxed new year's eve and travelled to the highest mountain in Germany, where we did some hiking trips.

This is the mood board for the color challenge # 21 by Scrapfriends

I wanted to submit this layout for the Scrap&Music sketch challenge #19, but I forgot to use a piece of their chosen song as title for my layout.... So.... anyway, this is the sketch I used:

Thank you for stopping by! :)

Scrapbook Werkstatt Monatsstarter #1 2014

Hi everyone, I'm back with another clean layout. This one is for the Scrapbook-Werkstatt month starter. They provide a sketch every first day of the month as inspiration for you in their forum. I kept it really simple and used mainly scraps from earlier projects to finish this layout.

The huge white arrows are cut with my silhouette, the blue ones are some stamps from MME (up & away collection).

I added some little brads here...

... and embossed the plant with WOW embossing powder. It's a really cool color, something like patina. It's a mix of copper and turquoise. Love the effect! On the picture you can see one of my cats (I have three of them :D).

Thank you for stopping by!

Creative Scrappers sketch #259

Hi everyone! I created another "clean" layout - well, at least I tried - this time for CreativeScrappers.
That's their awesome sketch and what I created with it. I played around with my new Silhouette Cameo as you'll see :)

Two pictures from one of my hiking trips with my friends! I just love nature and this is a great way to spend time with your friends and being active. We had a great day! All the paper I used is from DCWV, it's from the "Vintage Collector" collection which comes in great bright colors! I used withe cardstock for the Silhouette Cuts, and a little bit of yarn. That's it!

I hope you like my creation! Thank you for stopping by <3
A appreciate all comments :)

January Challenge by Life. Paper. Scrapbook

TGIF Scrappers! I found another great sketch challenge to work on, this time by Life. Paper. Scrapbook. They have a quiet simple sketch for January, but I really LOVE this one. Usually I prefer sketches with lots of details instead of some clean and simple ones, but when I saw their sketch, I knew I had to create a layout with it! I knew I had a picture in stash, which matches perfect to the sketch. It's from a travel to Prague in 2011, where we visited the John Lennon Wall. Love the colors!

For me it's really hard to create a simple layout and although this one looks quiet clean, it has a lot of small details I added. The grid is stitched with pink floss and there's some stencil work behind the picture and in the lower left corner. I cut out my title with my NEW SILHOUETTE CAMEO (thank you honey for this AWESOME Christmas present :)) and added some Candis on the picture.

I cut out the hearts from a 12 by 12 paper and surrounded them with faux stitching. Little spritzes of Glimmer mist add some shine to the layout.

And that's the sketch for the challenge:

Thank you so much for stopping by and have a great weekend out there.
Hugs!
