Sketchabilities #109 reveal

Hey Scrappers!

It's great to see you around and having a look at my first DT reveal for Sketchabilities! It's about sketch #109 and it's just as awesome as usual :) I had a lot of fun creating a layout with this sketch and used a lot of mixed media. For the background I used a polka-dot paper and lots of different paints. First I misted a part of the paper with Dylusion Inks, Mr. Hueys and Perfect Pearls Mists in different blueish and greenish shades. For the contrast I applied some white ink, too. After that I stamped a flourish pattern using a blue Gelato.

I cut out the title and the branches with my Silhouette,

and applied some Jelly paint for more texture.

Then I added a few buttons and some washi-tape to embellish the page. I stamped around the edges with one of my Kaisercraft texture stamps. On this picture you can see the stamped image with the Gelato quiet good. I like the distressed look it gives to your project.

Scrap & Music #18 - Nothing Else Matters

Another beautiful sketch provided by Scrap & Music! This time they choose a song by Metallica - Nothing Else Matters. I took two photos from our holiday in Egypt. We were snorkeling a lot and took many pictures under water. Finally time to get some of them scrapped! Here's my take on their sketch:

I took different shades of green/blue and beige for the papers to match them with the pictures. I think they look a little bit like the color of the ocean. Behind the clustered papers I applied a layer of white crackle paint and covered it with a little bit of distress ink after it was dry. After that I spritzed a bit of different mists and sprays. 

At the edges of the banners I used a little bit of embossing powder to give it a more interesting texture. 

 

I had no more space for my journaling, that's why I decided to make a "hidden" pocket tag by making a cut behind some of the layers.

On this picture you can see the texture of the crackle paint.

As title, I took the "life is ours" lyrics from the song.

Card Challenge - Mojo Monday 321

Merry first Advent to you all :) Just finished a Christmas card for one of my coworkers. He asked me to create one with a bicycle, so I guess he's going to give away a bike ^^ For the layout of the card I used the Mojo Monday Sketch 321. It's so adorable! I used a snowy theme and different shades of light blue, white and silver. Here's my take on their sketch:

The blue background paper is from Papermania (Vintage Notes Collection and Mistletoe Kisses). You can't see it too good, but there are some very light snowflakes on the paper :) I inked all the edges with "Broken China" Distress Ink. I did the border with one of my Martha Steward punchers, using it on both sides of the paper strip. After that I applied some InkaGold in silver, to make it shine. I did also some heat-embossing with silver powder. On the outer circle I used two different shades of liquid pearls (platinum and white opal). The two little banners and the bicycle are cut out with cutting dies. In this case, I wrote the sentiment by hand. 

In the detail-picture you can see the perfect pearls on the white circles. I just stamped some tiny snowflakes with embossing ink, and brushed some perfect pearls in interference blue on it. At the end, I used some "true snow" from Aleene's to top the bicycle with it :)

As you can see, I decided to take the Square Sketch :)

Besides, I added this card in the Christmas theme challenge from Scrapping everyday miracles, too :)
