January Challenge by Life. Paper. Scrapbook

TGIF Scrappers! I found another great sketch challenge to work on, this time by Life. Paper. Scrapbook. They have a quiet simple sketch for January, but I really LOVE this one. Usually I prefer sketches with lots of details instead of some clean and simple ones, but when I saw their sketch, I knew I had to create a layout with it! I knew I had a picture in stash, which matches perfect to the sketch. It's from a travel to Prague in 2011, where we visited the John Lennon Wall. Love the colors!

For me it's really hard to create a simple layout and although this one looks quiet clean, it has a lot of small details I added. The grid is stitched with pink floss and there's some stencil work behind the picture and in the lower left corner. I cut out my title with my NEW SILHOUETTE CAMEO (thank you honey for this AWESOME Christmas present :)) and added some Candis on the picture.

I cut out the hearts from a 12 by 12 paper and surrounded them with faux stitching. Little spritzes of Glimmer mist add some shine to the layout.

And that's the sketch for the challenge:

Thank you so much for stopping by and have a great weekend out there.
Hugs!

#101 Sketchabilities - my first challenge

Hey Scrappers!

Tonight I finished my first layout for a challenge for sketchabilities. After starting a blog, I thought this might be a good idea to become a little bit more popular. Here's what the challenge is about:

And this is what I made out of it:

I took two photos from our last trip to Prague in December 2011. For the background I used paper from the heirloom stack from DCWV. I also get inspired by a YouTube video by Elena Olinevich for Donna Salazar's blog. This time I tried to make it look really vintage and a little bit dirty. I really liked the idea from the sketch to create a clothesline for the pictures. Hope you enjoy! :)
